BSF Polytechnic Tekanpur Places Seminar on Design For Manufacturing No. 153 Of DAuto

TEKANPUR: 09-09-2016: The BSF Polytechnic, Tekanpur  and DAuto came together via a seminar for the benefit of the students and their career. Design-for-Manufacturing was the topic for delivering requirements of the industry for product research, design and development among the students. Hundreds of students were present to understand “Design-For-Manufacturing” and the relevant opportunities through.

Design for Manufacturing pioneered by DAuto, has been used by many companies, industries, OEMs around the world to develop creative product designs that use optimal manufacturing processes based on the design.

The event also was accompanied by Mr. Sanjay Mittal, (Mechanical Department) and the other faculty members.

Correctly applied Design after analysis leads to significant reductions in production cost, without compromising product time-to-market goals, functionality, quality, serviceability, or other attributes. In this seminar, attendees not only learned the Design-For-Manufacturing concept with process, they actually routed to apply it to their own product design!

Mr. Vikas Pandey the Director of DAuto shared the actual competition in the design industries and guide the students; how they can overcome the trouble for hitting the right career opportunities at the right time.

The seminar emphasized how to significantly design the product, based on the principles of industries by simplifying concepts, optimizing product development, minimizing labor content, choosing the standard parts which minimizes material overhead, optimizing supply chain management, eliminating the costs of quality by design, concurrently developing optimal product families and processing, minimizing issues with tolerance stacks, and, in general, designing for every aspect of manufacturability.

The seminar has displayed how to use concurrent engineering, product development teams to design in manufacturability from the beginning and how this will dramatically reduce the real time-to-market by ensuring the product works and eliminating late changes to make the design manufacture-able and ramp up to the target volume, productivity, and quality. These manufacturable designs allow growth without encountering the conflicts that occur when unmanufacturable products can only be built by highly skilled people and lots of firefighting.

The Design-for-manufacturing topic included designing products for lean production, high-mix/low-volume environments, build-to-order, and mass customization.

The seminar concluded with a discussion in which experts answer the questions of attendees. Attendees get recommended to start working on DFM implementation and coming out of the box to think beyond where career opportunities take a flight.

Students were excited to hold the physical parts along with seeing its manufacturing process on screen. Here are some of the reviews students penned down on paper after the seminar;

Laxmipati Institute Of Science And Technology Industrial Visit

BHOPAL-24th May 2016- DAuto Engineering Private Limited-
It was mid noon and a group of Engineering students (mechanical branch) of Laxmipati Institute of Science and Technology along with its faculty members arrived to visit DAuto. The purpose was to acquire knowledge and guidance of industry experts and Design Engineers. It was an industrial visit where students got to learn about “Design-For-Manufacturing”. This visit was to help students gain first-hand information regarding application of design and manufacturing in various industries.

Industrial visit is a vital part of the engineering courses. It helps to bridge the gap between classroom and the real field world. Students are benefited to learn about “real life” examples of engineering. One of the important objectives of engineering course is; desire to prepare graduates to quickly become productive upon entering the workforce. Therefore, industrial visit make students understand the subject to its core and its deeper practical experiences in real field situation.

This industrial visit also has the same motive to bring mechanical engineering students of LIST Bhopal under a DAuto’s roof to fill the gap between theoretical and practical engineering. The students were exposed to the implementation of various concepts of “design-for-manufacturing” in the industry. The Design Engineers of DAuto addressed the students and provided valuable information regarding the product research, design, development, analysis and career opportunities.

The students were excited to see the entire process of product development, analysis and launching it in the market. The design Engineers of DAuto explained how a product comes to an existence and people use it for their convenience. Students understood the design necessity for the manufacturing by following relevant product norms. They visited CAD CAM CAE lab, saw the prototypes of various products and sectors, gain the practical knowledge of product testing and the importance of practical engineering through industry projects.

The members of LIST Bhopal such as; Mr. R Sugandhi (Head, Dept. of Research, Innovation ,Conference ,Legal), Mr Himanshu & Mr. Lal ( Professors, ME) accompanied the students on this visit. As a part of the visit, the students also had an opportunity to get acquainted with the working of the mechanical engineers where research, design, development, analysis and production actually take place. The students found the visit of great academic interest.

Mr. R Sugandhi, appreciated the efforts of the industrial visit coordinator of DAuto for organizing such visit where the students are provided with a platform. On the other hand, the students were happy at the end of the event as they converted their theoretical knowledge into practical under the guidance of design engineers of DAuto

It is sort of an Industry-Institute collaboration where DAuto represents itself as an industry involved in providing product research, design, development, analysis and manufacturing solutions to the customers nationally and internationally. On the other hand, SGSITS is recognized as a leading institute in the state of Madhya Pradesh and the western region consistently during its glorious journey of sixty years. It has been ranked among the top 30-40 institutes on a national level (including IITs and NITs) by independent bodies (source:SGSITS).

Both intend a common motive to prepare the engineering students as per the demand or requirements of the industries, companies or competitive market. So that the students could be developed thus to hit the career opportunities after their graduation. DAuto immensely involved in Automotive, Power, Civil, Agriculture, Consumer Goods and General engineering sectors in North America, Europe, India and other countries. Therefore, it is set to deliver the latest and greatest technology from abroad to SGSITS students.

Students will learn to design the product by keeping the norms and regulations of different countries, sectors in the intellect which could be manufactured in real life. The industry experts of DAuto will impart the knowledge, experience, technology and innovation among SGSITS students.

Upon achievements of DAuto, Technical Education Minister Shri Gupta said: This is an appreciable that such (Internationally active) company (DAuto) is working in our state and contributing in technical education by producing remarkable outputs (previously DAuto placed ITI students in abroad). This MOU is kept on the tremendous thought of developing employment opportunities through technology transfer, product research, design and development. This will not only boost the image of technical education in MP, but prepare technical students in practical engineering to enable easy to get career opportunities and establishing the platform to become entrepreneurs.

Moreover, Technical Education Minister said; DAuto shall sign the MOU with polytechnic institutes like it associated with other Engineering colleges, ITI(s), Universities etc. and establish the design labs, so the maximum number of students could take the benefits out of it and enhance the image and importance of technical education.

After over the MOU event, Shri Subodh Pandey and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Saxena also visited at DAuto industry and saw the design, prototyping and product lab.
